Google Labs - Useful Features To Improve Your Gmail

Google Labs, we all know about google labs. If you don't know google labs then here is some discription about it:

                "Google Labs is a website demonstrating and testing new Google projects.Google also uses an invitation-only phase to test projects including Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Wave and many of these have their own "labs" webpages for experimental projects unique to each product."

Now we are going to see the features of google labs to improve gmail. Gmail has changed our lives permanently it offer 5 GB of email storage for free and a lot of google labs features. This is one of the reasons why I love Google. 

Here is a list of useful google labs features which will for sure , improve your gmail.

1) Watch Youtube Videos In Gmail Chat

With this feature you can watch previews of YouTube videos whenever you receive a YouTube link in an email.

It looks like this: 

To enable it go to gmail labs , search for YouTube previews in mail and select Enable and click on Save Changes at the bottom. 

2) Use Gmail Offline With Google Gears

It is a web browser plug-in , that allows you to work in Web applications without internet connection. When you lose your connection, Gmail automatically switches to offline mode, and uses the data stored on your computer’s hard drive instead of the information sent across the network. You can read messages, star and label them, and do all of the things you’re used to doing while reading your webmail online. 1. Go to this link and install Google Gears ,

2. After installation , restart your web browser

3. Go to Gmail Account , click on Settings , then Labs and enable offline

4.Download your email messages onto computer. In gmail account click Offline


5.After this will appear window, click Next

When Gears security warning appear click Allow
 

Choose place where you want to create Gmail shortcut, that allows you to start Gmail while you are offline

Wait until your mail downloaded on your computer.
 

Now, you can use your gmail offline. When you disconnect, offline mode will activate and you´ll have access to gmail.

3) Undo Your Sent Message

Turn on Undo Send in Gmail Labs under Settings, and you’ll see a new “Undo” link on every sent mail confirmation. Click “Undo,” and we’ll grab the message before it’s sent and take you right back to compose. 

4)Google Calendar gadget 


This gadget is a simple way to see your Google Calendar agenda and get an alert when you have a meeting. 

 

5) Navbar Drag and Drop 

With this feature you can re-order your navigation as you like.
